ALL ABOUT SARENAH

Hi everyone. I'm the new addition to the Neville Family. My full name is Sarenah vonder NevilleHaus. Yes, I'm a fullblooded German Shepherd, but since I was rescued, I don't have any papers. Just a registered Name! Guess that just shows how much my new family loves me! :)
I came to my new family about mid December. Ok, let me start at the beginning....I was rescued by the Fayette County Dog Warden in early December. I had been hit by a car, and they suspected my leg was broken. The Dog Warden held me for almost 2 wks., calling everyone she knew of to see if anyone had called about me. Noone had!!! :( So they called my new owner to come and look at me, hoping that she would fall in love with me the minute she saw me, and take me home. Which is exactly what she did! I was VERY scared at first, but she could see the kindness in my eyes. Before taking me to my new home, she took me to her work, see this strange man in a long white coat. I think she called him a Vet. He took a look at my legs, bending it back and forth, pulling on it, and rubbing it up and down. It hurt, but I was brave, and didn't even whine!!! My new owner could tell I was in pain, but admired my braveness. They took some blood from my leg, and I watched her intensily while she ran some test! She was very happy when my heartworm test came back negitive. Then it was time for me to go on a long white table, and take something called X-rays. She had another very nice lady helping her. They were trying to be as gentle as they could. When all was done, they found that both my front legs were broke. They aren't sure how it happen, but they think I must have jumped out of a moving vehicle. The man in the white coat came back, and put this long, hard thing on my leg called a splint. I didn't like that one bit. It was tight, and my toes started to swell in a matter of days. So my owner took me back to her work, and took it off me! I had licked and chewed until I had a sore on my leg now too. So the man in the white coat said they were going to leave the splint off, until the sore healed! Well, you won't believe this, but in a matter of weeks, I'm all better now! I took all my pills like mommy told me to, I'm eating all my food, plus the food of the other dog in the family, Haze. She doesn't like it when I do that, but I get the feeling she's knows I need it! :) Haze was also very gentle with me when I came into the home. It's almost like she knew I was hurt. I wanted to play with her, but at the time, my leg really hurt. Now that I'm all better, she runs and plays with me all the time! She's a great dog, just like me! I have very gentle eyes, and love my new kids I have to play with. I'm really beginning to love it here. My new owners weren't sure if they were going to keep me or not, so they didn't give me an official name. I didn't get my new name until my new dad named me. It was my mom that came up with the meaning! I'm still kinda scared of him, even though he's never done anything to me. So they think I must have been abused. Gosh, I really wish I could talk to them, and tell them my offical story! :)
My name actually has several meanings. But the most important one is from my mom. See, I can really tell that she loves me alot, and my name has specail meaning to her. She talked to me one day, and told me the story about Haze. And Haze isn't doing so well right now in her health. My mom was *Searching* for a new dog when I came along. I wasn't exactly what she was looking for, but that's Ok with me. I melted her heart anyway. So she *rescued* me. And as far as the *Everyone Needs A Hand* part.....she's really going to need me when the time comes with Haze, and I know our hearts have the connection that is needed for me to be there for her. I know I will never take Haze's place in her heart, but mom has a Big Heart. And I know I will be just as special to her!
Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! :) I hope you like the pics of me and Haze, enjoyed my story, and will come back often for future updates on me! :) *woof, woof, for now!*
