On 24 September 1997, we went on our first homeschool field trip. There were 3 Moms and 1 Dad that met at the church. It was a free day and there wasn't a line at all when we got there. That was nice! We brought a couple of wagons, had strollers, packed lunches and off we went.
The kids did really well actually. There were 12 of them altogether. We found a grassy area and ate our lunch within the first hour we were there. Everyone was getting hungry already.
I took lots of pictures of everyone and decided to start a "field trip" photo album for our group.
We saw seals, giraffes, lions, tigers, flamingos, birds, hippos, elephants, baboons, zebras, deer, all kinds.
We also ran into 2 other Moms and their kids. One of them hung around with us for a while until she had to go home.
For a while there I think the kids were more into pulling the 3 strollers and 3 wagons that we had instead of looking at the animals!
We were at the zoo almost 5 hours. Everyone had a great time and it was well worth it!! We are looking forward to our October field trip.
