Terry's 3M's
The car died late last year and was not resuscitated until about two weeks ago. Public transportation is located an uncomfortable (for me, anyway) walking distance away. And since we are located on the edge of town, shopping centers are far enough away to require transportation of some sort. My sister has a friend who was picking her up and taking her to and from work each day--often with a stop at a supermarket on the way home. But, I had been housebound since Christmas Eve. I mean that when my brother took me to see Titanic last week, it was the first time that I had gone anywhere out of the neighborhood since December 24, 1997. This weekend, I got out, again! Faye wanted to treat me for my birthday, so, we went to the movies at Boulder Station. I wanted to see Apostle, but, we were too late for the early showing. So, we went to see a movie that we both wanted to see--As Good As It Gets. I'm not crazy about Nickelson, but, I am a big Helen Hunt fan. The movie was funnier than I had anticipated and the dog just about stole the show. Faye was disappointed in the ending. She thought that there should have been more to it. But, then she has never learned that sometimes, less is more. Mini-spoiler ahead: I saw the robbery coming as soon as the guy in the car offered the modeling job to the guy on the street. Like you'd expect something different in NYC? After the movies, we went to The Feast Buffet. (Boulder Station is a large hotel/casino located on Boulder Highway. There are several Station hotel/casinos in various parts of town.) I didn't have the roast beef or the ham--but, I did indulge in lots of red and green peppers with the pepper steak. The fish was also done quite well. Both are items that I don't cook at home very often because Delton and I are the only ones who eat fish and Faye and I are the only ones who enjoy peppers.
When we were through with dinner, Faye treated me to a Bingo session. She played
electronic bingo and got paper pages for me. Faye likes the electronic bingo
because she can't keep up with the numbers. This way, she just taps in the numbers.
I think the machine cards look too much like GameBoy and I can barely see the
cards. I kept up with the games, but, it was a near thing. She got me two sets
of pages for a total of twelve cards to keep up with. It had been almost 4 or 5
years since I last played Bingo in a casino. Maybe more. I didn't even get cased.
![]() A pause here as I leave the keyboard. My son wants breakfast. ![]() This morning I got caught up with the entries of some of my favorite online diarists. Only one of them keeps a regular journal of the things going on in her life. Of the others, two are journals that are kept by grandmother's tracking and updating reports on their granddaughter's treatment and/or recovery from serious illnesses. (If you are interested in these two--go to my prayer page and click on the picture of Karissa or Mikayla's Angel.) Another is by a woman who is very active in several worthwhile organizations on the net. Her diary is mostly a showcase for her new graphics and backgrounds with an occasional remark about some things going on in her life. I'm too lazy (and too busy [I'm trying to write this while the kids are talking to me about this and that.]) to look up the URL right now. Click on the logo to DJ's on my Awards I Give page or my prayer page to get to her website. I have also been going to different cards sites to pick up my virtual birthday cards. And I've been taking some time to take brief looks at the websites of well-wishers. I'll go back to their sites for a longer look once the kids are back to school. One of the other places that I plan on spending some time at is at a site with Real Audio Oldies Music from the 50's and 60's. The owner of the ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
