Terry's 3M's
Well, I guess we're going to keep the same isp for a while. Today is my nephew A's 18th birthday. It is hard to believe that Faye is the mother of an 18 year old. (Especially since I'm 10 years older than Faye and my son is only 8.) Consequently, she was doing more bragging than complaining about the store clerk that ID'd her the other day when she was buying beer. I'm finding it extremely hard to find time to think much less write these days. I am with the kids constantly. It is much too hot to go outside and play. Although it is still warm in the house with the air conditioning running and an indoor temperature of about 80 degrees, it is an oven outside in the over 100 degree heat. After being outside for 5 minutes, they're ready to come in...and I don't blame them. The kids want to play Nintendo or watch TV. They've attempted to play Twister a few times, but, there is much opposition during the game as the two bossy kids vie for the position of holding the spin card. An arguement invariably ensues with me acting as Monster Mom and closing the game. Monster Mama is a game I play with the kids as I growl at them and go after them. Sometimes it ends up in a game of Tickle Torture. One of the things I would like to shoot my nephew, Bryan, for is teaching my son how to make farting sounds by placing his hand just so under the opposite armpit and bringing the arm down. I know that I'm rambling. But, the kids are now awake (oh, joy--I had a whole 15 minutes on the computer before being interupted this morning) and will soon be downstairs. I don't stay long on the computer because the kids have decided that as long as my attention is on this machine, I am too involved to notice what they are doing...and they take it as a perfect opportunity to do things that they're not supposed to do. Five puppies have been sold. Please, Lord, let the other puppies be sold this weekend... This morning, the day started with noticing that my son had come into my room during the night and made himself a bed on my floor. If I stay up until 1AM, I may have 3 waking hours a day when I'm not in the presence of a child. And lately, some of Bryan's friends have been coming over, so I may be around 6 kids for hours at a time. Occasionally, I lose a kid who has gone to play at a friend's house, but, there are always a few that stay behind. The guy next door complained to Animal Control that we weren't taking care of the dogs properly again. Every month he does it. This time, it was the backyard wasn't clean enough. There was too much doggy doo. The animal control guy suggested that we remove every piece of bark (you know, the decorative bark that you buy to put around the base of trees and bushes to make the yard look nice.) from the ground because it looks too much like doggy doo and when the neighbor looks out his bedroom window (the only window where he can see into our yard) he can't tell that it's bark and not poop. I wish he were moving instead of the across the street neighbors. Sounds whiny, I know. But, I have been having trouble with my right knee for the past few days. It pops in and out whenever I bend or straighten it...causing a sharp pain of short duration. As long as it is in one position it's fine. But, you can't keep your leg in one position for long.
Well, I gotta go. The kids are downstairs and there's breakfast to get and laundry to do, and chores to supervise.
