Boy in the Bubble

The Boy in the Bubble

They call him the Boy in the Bubble.
They call him the Man in the Moon.
I call him the man I have dreamed of,
I long to be with him soon.
His thoughts are my every action,
I can't wait to see him again.
I wonder if he thinks of me,
as much as I think of him.
His thoughts, his dreams, his feelings
set him far apart from most.
Yet, the things that make him wonderful,
	have also created a ghost.
He wanders among 'normal' people,
	unable to feel very much,
the soft caress of a lover,
	a warm and tender touch.
No matter how far he reaches,
no matter how hard he tries,
between him and the heart of another
the wall his bubble still lies.
The Man in the Moon lies above us,
seen by all but touched by few.
And his feeling of quiet desparation,
is a feeling I know well too.
No one looks beyond the surface,
all they see is the unshakable wall.
No one tries to fight the battle,
	to make the barriers fall.
All my life I have dreamed of his kisses,
all my life I have wanted to see,
the desire within someone else,
the heart of another like me.
Some day the walls will come down,
some day his dreams I will know,
for inside his very being,
beats a heart so much like my own.
