Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
start this about 1/2 hour before the little tykes
are due to arrive and enjoy the aroma therapy! *grin*
| 2 | cups | pumpkin seeds (you just carved the pumpkins, right?) |
| 1 | t. | Worcestershire sauce |
| 3 | T. | melted butter or margarine |
| 1 | t. | salt |
 | Rinse the pumpkin seeds until all the pulp and strings are washed off. | |
| In a medium bowl, combine the Worcestershire sauce, melted butter or margarine and salt. | |
| Add the seeds and stir until they are coated. | |
| Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 225 degrees F for 1 to 2 hours, until crisp. | |
| Stir frequently to prevent scorching. | |
| Makes 2 cups. Each 1/2 cup serving contains 668 calories, 56g fat, 15g carb, 752mg sodium, 23mg cholesterol. |
| 16 | cups | popped corn |
| 1 | square | butter |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar |
| 1/4 | cup | light Karo syrup |
| 1 | cup | peanuts (optional) |
 | Pour popcorn and peanuts into paper bag. | |
| Cook butter, sugar and Karo syrup on high in microwave for 3 minutes. | |
| Cook 3 more minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. | |
| Pour into bag -- fold up bag. | |
| Cook 1 more minute. | |
