Outside Games
Soccer Guard
You will
need a soccer ball, 1/2 gallon milk jug or a plastic bowling pin, and masking
tape. Make a big circle with the masking tape. Place the bowling pin in the
middle. The guard should be in the middle with the pin. All the other players
should be on the outside of the circle. The players forming the circle have to
kick the ball and try and knock the pin down. The guard protects the pin by
kicking the ball away from it. No high kicking and you can't use your hands. If
the pin gets knocked over, the one that kicked it over becomes the guard. If the
guard kicks the pin over, the guard has to choose someone who hasn't been a
guard yet to be the guard.

Centipede
Divide the
players into two equal teams. If there is a left over player have them be the
finish line and they can join a team later. Have the players get into lines and
have them get down on their hands and knees. The players who are on their hands
and knees behind someone has to grab the person's ankles that are in front of
them. That have to stay like this until they all cross the finish line. When the
caller says "GO!" they all have to move forward together until they
all cross the finish line. If they break apart, they have to stop and connect
again.
Red Light, Green Light
Choose
someone to be "It".(I am usually "It" the first time around)
"It" stands at one end of the playing field and the players stand at
the other end. "It" turns around and says "Green Light!" The
players run towards "It". "It" turns around and yells "Red
Light!" Everyone must stop.If "It" catches anyone moving they
have to go back to start. The game continues until a player touches "It".
Then the player becomes "It".

Mr. Bear
Someone needs to be
Mr. Bear. Have them sit on a chair and pretend to be sleeping. Everyone stands
around Mr. Bear and starts off softly saying "Mr. Bear are you awake?"
The players keep saying the phrase louder each time they say it. Then Mr. Bear
wakes up and says "Yes" and chases the players until they reach base.
Whoever Mr. Bear catches becomes his bear cubs and helps to catch the other
players.

Migration
Line
up at the starting line. Leader calls out the name of an animal. Everyone must
race to the finish line like the animal called. For example: if "duck"
is called out they must waddle like a duck to the finish line. Other animals:
birds, snake, worm, fish , dog, kangaroo, turtle, rabbit, lobster, and bear.
After doing a few change to this: Tell them that not all animals survive
migration because of food, other animals and weather. Have some girls be
obstacles. They have to firmly plant their feet and use their hands to tag the
racers. If a racer is tagged that racer has to fall to the ground and play dead.
Do this until only one racer is left.
Mouse Trap
Four girls
become the mouse trap by standing in a circle, facing in, and holding hands with
their arms way up in the air. The other children are the mice and they run in
and out of the trap. Then when the leader calls "Spring the Trap" the
girls who are the trap bring their arms down and hopefully catch some mice
inside. The caught mice become part of the trap. The game continues until all
are caught and the last four caught become the trap and the game starts again.
Doggy, Doggy, where's your bone?
Pick a person to be the dog and this person sits on a chair with their
back to the rest of the girls. An object is placed under her chair. This is the
bone. The dog closes her eyes while someone steals the bone and hides somewhere
on them. Then they sing "Doggy, Doggy, where is your bone? Someone's stolen
it from your home. Guess who it might be." Then the dog opens her eyes and
has three guesses who took it. If she guessed right than she gets another turn
as the dog, but if she guesses wrong she switches with the one who has it.
Sometimes leave the bone under the chair to fool the dog.
