POEM-Her Light Shines Bright

Her Light Shines Bright

(This was sent to me by Lisa, who lives in a small town in Texas called Alvin. Lisa lost a longtime friend named Whitney in a alcohol related accident on May 10, 1997. Whitney was 17 years old. Lisa misses her and thinks of her famly every day. This is a little poem that Lisa carries with her always.)

Some of the stars we see in the sky,

Died millions of years ago.

And yet their light

Still shines bright.

Look up, and you will see it is so.

Lisa wrote:
"And thus it is with Whitney.
Despite her death, her spirit shines bright.
The pain will diminish as time goes on,
But NOTHING can dim WHITNEY'S LIGHT!"

"...To this day, I look up in the dark sky and remember Whitney when I see that shining small star."

"I will always love and remember you Whitty. Thank-you for being in my life and being a wonderful friend to me. You were always there to ride with me through this lonely town, and it wasn't so lonely when you were here to go with me.  I will never forget you.  So God Bless you, Whitney, and your beautiful family forever. "
