Philip PARROT was born 1 January 1794 in Rockingham Co, Virginia to Samuel PARROT and Ellen ? . On 17 February 1818 he married Barbara Ann SCHNEIDER in Rockingham Co, Virginia. Supposedly, Philip served a year in the war of 1812. I have sent for these records and am waiting for a reply from the National Archives.

I have a copy of a guardian bond which list Philip's first two children. This is a transcript of that document:

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, Philip Parret & Henry Shank are held and firmly bound unto Peachy Harrison Joseph Cravens David Huston & Charles C Spears Gentlemen Justices of the Court of Rockingham County, now sitting in the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Justices, and their Successors, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, Sealed with our Seals, and dated this 21st day of April 1834.

The Condition of the above obligation is such, that if the above bound Philip Parrott his Executors or Administrators, shall well and truly pay and deliver, or cause to be paid and deliver unto Branson M Parrott & Susannah Parrott [orphan of - crossed out] Children of Philip Parrott [deceased - crossed out], all such Estates as now is, or are, or hereafter shall appear to be due to the said Orphan, when, and as soon as they shall attain to lawful age, or when thereto required by the Justices of the said County Court, as also keep harmless and indemnified the above named Justices, their Heirs, Executors and Administrators, from all trouble and damages that shall or may arise about the said Estate or Estates, then the above obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force. SIGNED AND ACKNOWLEDGED IN OPEN COURT.

Philip died 4 January 1856 in Virginia and he is interred in Reedy's Family Cemetery.
