Royal Fred SMITH was born on 10 September 1893 to Samuel Martin SMITH and Julia Ann BROWN. When still a young boy he moved with his family to Kay Co, Oklahoma. On 20 March 1914 he was married to Lena M. ROBINSON in Alma, Wabaunsee Co, Kansas. Lena was born about 1896 in Kansas. In 1920 Fred and his family were living in White City, Morris Co, Kansas and he was listed as a telegraph operator for the Telegraph Company.
