Edward (Ned) ROBERTSON was born on 2 Apr 1838 in Yancey County NC. He died and was buried next to wife Ann Elizabeth in Sep 1909 in the
Robinson Cemetery off Blue Rock Road in Celo NC. He was not buried in the Blue Rock (Charles Robertson)
cemetery where his mother, father and most of the rest of his family were. Also, the following generation
changed the family surname to ROBINSON. He served in the military during the War Between the States
in Co C, 58th NC Infantry CSA. He joined the unit on 29 May 1862 at Burnsville NC. He was wounded in
action in the neck at Missionary Ridge, Tennessee on 25 Nov 1863. His tombstone noted this service in
Co C 58th NC Infantry. No dates are on the stone. The 58th NC Regiment was formed in the spring of 1862.

Edward was a Farmer in Celo (Yancey)
NC. In the 1870 census he and his wife could neither read nor write. In the 1900 census they both
could read and write. He was the last in this line to bear the ROBERTSON spelling
of his last name. He was married to the widow of Josiah A Young, Ann Elizabeth YOUNG, on
12 Mar 1865 in Yancey County NC. The marriage was performed by James W Gibbs, JP as
noted in the Yancey County marriage records for that period. James Gibbs was Edwards
brother-in-law.
Ann Elizabeth YOUNG was born on 25 Mar 1838 in Yancey County NC.
She died on 22 Sep 1904. She was buried in Sep 1904 in the Robinson Cemetery in Celo NC.
She was married first to her cousin Josiah A YOUNG (son of Thomas YOUNG
and Sarah HORTON) on 24 May 1857 in Yancey County NC.
Josiah A YOUNG was born in 1833. He died in 1857 in Yancey County
NC. Killed by a falling tree which had been struck by lightning. Ann Elizabeth
YOUNG and Josiah A YOUNG had:
