I am trying to get information on my grandfather, John Wesley Lane. He was born on 23 April 1869 and died on 6 July 1920 in Central City, Muhlenberg Co., KY. He was the son of Martha Redman and the husband of Ina Vincent also of Central City. After his death, my mother and her three sisters were placed in an orphanage in Lexington. I have managed to obtain a copy of his death certificate which gave his trade or profession as Boss Driver (?). He was buried at Fairmount(?) Cemetary in Central City. I would appreciate any information on him or any of his family. Living in Alabama, it is extremely difficult to gather any information on my family. My mother is 78 years old now and has never known anything of her family. I am trying to amass as much information as possible to present to her.

Rob Roark Thu Oct 31 10:50:27 1996
My direct lineage traces back to Edmond Barry Roark (1855-1909), John Roark (1830-?), and John Roark (1784- 1860/70)(probable brother of William). I am interested in hearing from anyone connected to this line (also includes marriages to Marshall).
My Great Grandmother was Edmonia Berry Ragon. Her brother was editor of the Greenville paper from notes that I have. Her mother was Willie Johnson Ragon. I am not sure if there was a re-marriage since she later dropped the Ragon surname. I also have a letter to her from Buren Martin ( I believe related to other Martin's in the county) who owned a Tobbacco shop, refering to her as "Aunt Will"
If you have any information, or can post these requests to your board, it would be appreciated!

FAITH: Seeking information about Joseph FAITH who appears in the 1830 census for Daviess Co. Is his father William FAITH of the 1820 & 1830 census of Daviess? I found a marriage for William to Margaret ARNOLD in 1803. The 1810 (Ohio Co.) census shows 1 male under 10 and 2 females under 10. Joseph was born about 1806 so he could be the under 10 boy. Joseph appears in the 1840 Muhlenberg (later McClean Co.) census and is married to Elizabeth SHUTT, the daughter of Abraham SHUTT. Is this a second marriage for Joseph? The 1850 census show Susan 25, William J. 18, and James 15. These children are too old to be Elizabeth's. I would appreciate any help in sorting out this family .
