STERLING

Nearly thirty years ago I saw this man at 
a dance and instantly fell in love with 
him. Our first dance was to "Chances Are" 
and it has been 'our' song ever since. We 
married 3 months after we met. Sterling 
has been my friend, teacher, lover, a 
great father to our two children and a 
wonderful grandfather to the grandkids. 
I was truly blessed the day I met him 
and will be eternally thankful our 
paths crossed.

Sterling was born in 1949 in Baytown, Texas. 
His family moved to the Channelview area 
where he attended school, and later attended 
San Jacinto College. He has 5 brothers and 
sisters who all live in the area. I played 
second fiddle to his "hot rods" before we 
married, watching him 'drag' on Saturday nights. 

He recently attended his 30 year high school 
reunion from Channelview High School meeting 
many of his old flames and friends he hadn't 
seen since graduation.
