The Wheel of Time Series spans 7 books (so far) and is a wonderful saga of good vs. evil. Rand Al'Thor is a young sheepherder from a small village who has only imagined what big cities are like. When Moraine Sedai comes into the village he starts to learn more than he ever imagined. Myrddraal (evil, eyeless creatures of the Dark One) and Trollocs (twisted blends of human and animal stock created by the Dark One) attack the village. Moraine convinces Rand and his two best friends Perrin and Mat that the attack was aimed at them as one of them is the Dragon Reborn - the one who will save the world in the final battle of Tarmon Gai'don. The only way to save the village from further attacks is to leave it. Thus begins a journey into manhood, madness, and the final battle with the Devil himself.

the Daughter-Heir - the heir to the throne of Andor.
Dreadlords - men and women that were commanders of the Trolloc forces during the Trolloc Wars of old.
the Atha'an Miere (sea folk) - inhabitants of islands in the Aryth Ocean and the Sea of Storms.
the Tuatha'an - a wandering folk who live in brightly painted wagons and follow a totally pacifist philosophy called the Way of the Leaf.
