Buried at Brickey Cemetery in Van Buren County, Arkansas 4 miles West of Clinton 1/4 mile North of Highway 95. This is gravsite saved by Winston Chandler. ***************** Article written by Verda Bradford about Brickey Cemetery. "James Brickey, born 1797, came from Kentucky to what is now Van Buren County in 1821. He settled on the land owned by Hardin Lay. James Brickey's wife was Synthia (Synthia Jefferys Brickey) born 1801, in Kentucky. She died in 1906. She was full blood Cherokee Indian. They came to Arkansas with the movement of the Cherokee group and stayed around in the vicinity of the Brickey place. The Cemetery was established during this period of time. I (Verda Bradford) remember my daddy going to help dig a grave there for a man by the name of Eades. There were 19 graves, unmarked. My cousin, Vivian Lay, and I used to go there and place flowers on the graves when we were children, about 1915. As far as I know there have been no burials there for the past 35 years."
