The World is Watching

If we would show decision for the truth

At Easter when we find ourselves reflecting on our Savior and the Resurrection,
we know that Jesus had to rise again from the dead so that we would be forgiven
and live eternally with our Father in Heaven.

When He did.....we too rose with Him on that day
we proclaimed Him as our very own.

When we think about our own lives, we need to ask ourselves this question. Have we too risen from the dead? Have you died to your sins that Jesus gave His life to save you from. Has the resurrection in your life brought you into a child of God who lives for the truth?
Or,...did He really die in vain?

We ask these questions because at the heart of this topic you see lies the answer to all of our marriage and family difficulties. Are we walking as Christians in the light, in obedience to the Word, seeking to be faithful to our God, or are we just proclaiming to be Christians daily going about without bother to seeking the truth in our very actions, deeds and words!

Many talk these days about family values and that the change that we need to see in the world must begin in the home. Interestingly, the world is watching us, make no mistake about that. If we wish to influence others and make a difference in this world, it will begin at home, that is for sure. But it runs much deeper though, it starts in our soul! It is a personal awakening that must happen to the believer when born again. It's too easy to just say your Christian. The true test is what is seen by others. Your witness is your walk.

...Show me your faith without your works,
and I will show you my faith by my works
James 2:18

The world is watching you know! What exactly do they see?
Remember, you may be the only Bible that some people will ever read!

"Not merely in the words you say,
Not only in your deeds confessed,
but in the most unconscious way
Is Christ expressed.

"For me 'twas not the truth you taught,
To you so clear, to me so dim,
But when you came to me you brought
A sense of Him.

"And from your eyes He beckons me,
And from your heart His love is shed,
Till I lose sight of you and see
the Christ instead."

Being Christian carries with it great responsibility. It has been known that some of those who profess to be Christians have had a much more negative effect on the Christian Church than those who stand in utter unbelief. How distressing this statement is! If you are professing to be Christian do you examine your walk daily. Would the fact that you call yourself a Christian actually shock some people who don't know? Every lowering of your standard will without a doubt be a painful hurt struck at your best friend and Savior, Jesus. Those who seek the Christian life in true earnest long to be on the journey that brings them closer and closer to their God and a life commited to the Savior. These people are lifelong "students", so to speak, daily studying the scriptures while seeking the manifestation of these words into their life.

"Enter by the narrow gate;
for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction,
and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life,
and there are few who find it."
Matthew 7:13-14

It takes a great deal of courage to be a "True Christian". It means living away from "the world". It is making the unpopular decisions. It is NOT going along with the rest of the crowd. It is resting in the faith and care of the Father who sees to our every need and want.

Oh, the joy! Have you known this joy in your life?

The world is watching!.....Do you call yourself a Chistian?

Just what do they see? anger? hate? deceitfulness? unforgiveness? selfishness? conceit?, haughtiness?, envy?, jealousy?, a gossip? are you two-faced? have a judgemental spirit? are a troublemaker? a liar? a thief? an adulterer? a fornicator? etc.etc..These spirits have the power to destroy life an do so quite effectively!

Or.....do they witness the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with; faith, love, peace, joy, charity, humility, kindness, meekness, tenderness, longsuffering, temperance, goodness, a laying down of ones life, honesty, commitment, purity and patience. The works of the Holy Spirit have the ability to destroy sin and give life!

Sin is Sin my friend......there are no levels! One sin is equally as bad as another in God's eyes! We cannot call ourselves Christians but just maybe bend the rules here or there to suit ourselves.

The world is really watching all of us! Please, don't let Jesus down! If He was here today He would weep bitterly for His people and the choices they are making. Don't be one of those who are so deceived! The cross carries with it a truth that only those who truly believe know. They know this truth because they have SOUGHT after it, and then APPLIED it directly in their lives!
