Dog Coffee

Lyrics to Ani's Song...
Cape Cod...
those people in their cape cod cottages, they will never understand. the men in their texas mansions and women in their five grand a week penthouses, they won't see it. all that matters to them are those that live behind the glass windows next door, eating in the restaurants they slide into after their pathetic good times. they'll never give a damn about people. real people. the people that know what shit smells like.
they let the addicts with the sad hope wanting treatment back into their one-room
apartments, covered in piss and vomit when they can't pay the bills. and then they turn around and slam them in a prison for the mistakes the wealth started the cycle of. the homeless freeze on the streets, and they don't notice. they never see, never care. can't even spare their spare change, let alone compassion, let alone programs and volumes to ease bad news. babies starve because they had the shameful taste to be born to people without
good investments. without their money in philip morris. the poor go without health care, letting cancers or aids or anything else eat them to nothing. but maybe nothing is what everyone really wants. and it's not the cape cod dwellers fault because they went to a banquet for research last year. no, it's not their fault.
because the only people that matter are those that cast the votes that count. the ones that keep the damn mexicans on their side of our arbitrary line, those not glowing white in minimum wage, and the women in bare feet. yes, the ones that care enough about their money to pull the meaningless levers on meaningless tuesdays. the ones that vote because you promise to cut their taxes and after all, they don't need social security or welfare or medicaid or even roads i guess. it's not them. so you better give them a break, and get their thick-fingered, deep-pocketed support. yeah, better close your eyes.
and they tell me i'm crazy, but do you believe them... really, who's crazy here? who?
