The Cerebral Palsy Network makes their home in Yakima and Olympia Washington. Consisting of parents across the globe whom share a similar situation, Cerebral Palsy. In the past few years we have seen many members join from across the world, the vision has begun to be realized. Thanks to our members for sharing this vision. We encourage you to join us in this burning desire to make a difference in the lives of our children and ourselves. To have a place to call home and feel a sanctuary among friends. We encourage parents across the world to join us in our mission to not only provide these services, but to also educate all whom cross our threshold. Providing a positive future for our children we intend only for this to be an effort among all of us and a brighter future for our children with special needs.

We need many services here in the Washington State as well as in other areas across the globe as we have discovered in our research process of creating this web site. Together we as parents will make this difference, and secure our children's futures

I want to thank each of you that have become an active part of CPN and have made the last 6 yrs rewarding ones for all of us. Thank you for taking an interest in CPN!

Future Goals

  • CPN is finally seeing the possibility of going non profit. Look for future fundraising efforts to get our own domain as well as our non profit status. Contributions welcome.

  • To provide a clinic in which professionals volunteer their time to see children in different areas of the country, as a link for parents to receive information that will give them the option and knowledge of their next steps in their child's development.

  • To educate all currant professionals and interns (medical, social, legal) that deal with individuals with CPand other disabilities about the true expectations and facts that we deal with everyday. To provide them with a realistic understanding of Cerebral Palsy.

  •  To provide an equipment bank where parents can exchange outgrown equipment, clothes, orthotics, shoes, etc for the use of other children that may need them.

  • We are hoping to find a sponsor or have fund raisers to help us with "Parent's Night on the Town" and other projects we would like to have here at CPN, to give our members a special night all of their own. If someone would like to donate their services or time please drop us a line.

Goals Reached

  • Our "Regional Directors" program is getting an overhaul in effort to try and make it a more useful program for our members and our Directors. Look for all the new enhancements as they happen.

  • By having our chat room we have helped parents by having veteran parents and Adults with CP hold  discussions as a training session with other parents. Using their experiences as a golden opportunity to teach and educate others valuable lessons early.

  • Some of the future discussions will be  training in child care of special needs children in the areas of your CP specific training (spastic, Microcephaly, etc) tube feeding, seizures, uplifting and encouraging your child despite the outlook of the situation. ROM, adaptive equipment. Getting the answers you need from your physician, developing a positive relationship with all the people in your child’s life, and How to connect all these people together efficiently. Organizing your child's medical records, coordinating your life and taking time out for yourselves

  • By having our on-line support group,   we have given our members a way to communicate, ask questions, get support, just talk and develop friendships.

Ideas are growing and your voice in what you hope to see at the Cerebral Palsy Network matters, please take a moment to speak your mind by dropping us a line, today! Many parent volunteers will be needed to make this project work we encourage to join us today!
