Asters

(Aster)

Asters are also known as Michaelmas Daisy and Perennial Aster. They have vigorous, fall blooming clumps of colour. You should know that Asters suffer from mildew with August dew, so having good porus soil is very important.

Height: 1-4 feet (30-120cm)
Blooms: Mid-Summer to fall
Varieties: Harrington (rose-pink); Eventide (violet-blue); Frikartii (blue with yellow eyes)
Colours: They also come is various shades of purple, lavender, pink, red, blue and white.
Propagation: Divide in early spring and pinch back during summer to induce branching.
Light: Ful Sun
