Baby's Breath

(Latin: Gypsophilia)

Baby's Breath is a hardy busy plant which features masses of airy clustered tiny white or pink flowers. There are hundres of the tiny flowers on a spray. It's available as an annual plant, but if cared for properly, it could become a perennial. Baby's Breath is a fairly tall plant, so be sure to give it space or plant it towards the back ofyour grouping. It tends to no reach full size and bloom fully until the second year. This is the florist shops use along with fern when you buy roses. Depending upon where abouts you live and shop baby's breath will cost up to $3.00 a sprig!

Baby's Breath makes a wonderful addition to a moonlight/midnight garden.

Height: 12"-36" <30-100cm)
Blooms: Summer to Fall
Varieties: Bristol Fairy (white) -- This is what most flowers shops carry; Pink Star (pink) -- on large, this variety is more expense at flower shops than the Bristol Fairy
Colours: White, and Pink (rose)
Light: Full Sun
Soil: Does best with Alkaline Soil
Propagation: From seed. If you plant seeds in spring, every two weeks for 6 weeks, you'll be ensured pretty Baby's Breath all summer long.
