Cookie Monster Kids Can Cook Too! Cookie Monster

Here are some of the recipes Eric and Jamie like the best. Most of these things are really easy to make,
but some require help from Mom or Dad.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nutty Bananas
Mix 1/2 cup peanut butter with 2 Tbsp milk. Peel 2 bananas, cut in half crosswise and insert a stick into each flat end. Spread banana with peanut butter mixture and roll in wheat germ or unsweetened coconut (or chopped nuts for children 4 years and older). Place on waxed paper and freeze until firm, about 2 hours.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Orange Bubbly

Combine 2 cups cold milk and 4 Tbsp frozen concentrated orange juice in a blender. Buzz until well blended. Pour into 4-ounce glasses and serve with straws.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yogurt Pops
Mix 1 cup plain yogurt and 4 ounces concentrated unsweetened fruit juice. Pour into ice cube molds and place in freezer. When mixture is partially frozen, insert wooden sticks for handles. Freeze thoroughly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Veggie Dip

In a small bowl, combine plain yogurt, 1 tsp sesame seeds and grated cheddar cheese. Serve with carrot curls, celery sticks, turnip wedges, cauliflower chunks, green pepper rings, tomato slices and radish roses.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fruit Dip
    1 (500 ml) container Cool Whip
    1 cup plain yogurt
    1/4 cup sugar
    2 Tbsp orange juice
    2 tsp orange rind
Mix all ingredients together until smooth. Serve with orange sections, banana slices, fresh strawberries, grapes, apple pieces, pear slices, and whatever else you like!
Granola Bars
You may need some help with this one to use the oven.
    3 cups rolled oats
    1 cup chopped nuts
    1 cup raisins or chopped dried fruit
    1 cup sunflower seeds
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 can Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
    1/2 cup butter, melted
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees F. Line a 15x10" jellyroll pan with foil and grease the foil. Combine all ingredients well. Press evenly into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown. Cool slightly before removing from pan. Peel off foil, and cut into bars.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Frozen Mint Chocolate Mousse

    1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
    2/3 cup Brown Cow chocolate syrup
    3/4 tsp peppermint extract
    1 cup whipping cream, whipped

Combine milk, syrup and extract. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon into individual dishes. Freeze 3-4 hours, until firm. Keep in freezer until ready to serve, and return leftovers to freezer.
