Mr W.W. Sears Dear Brother & friend
I this evening take the opportunity of
answring your kind letter which came
to hand not long since I was more
than glad to hear from you this leavs me
well hoping it may find you and all in
good health I was glad to hear that our church
was so sollid in doing away with the
great evil which is continued growing on
this land It was quite different up here
I have been attending a baptis churchin
forsyth co this summer & built a tobacco
barn in that neighborhood & because I was
in favor of prohibition I liked to of not
got helpt to raise it And I am sorry to
say it but it is true they wasent one
of the members that voted for prohibition
ther preacher was infavor of prohibition
I am inhops they will reform
I do think that some of the churches
both Methodis & Baptis had better get them
a preacher who believs in drink or
take their names off of the churchbook
& assign to a still hous but maby they
would not be able to preach when they
wanted to hear I have ben attending a
methodis protracted meeting some this weeak
one of the preachers who mad the appointment
was a man that opposed his his own brother
before the election and made anty speeches a
gainst him but a day or so befor the meeting
he was taken very ill & has not been
able to attend the meeting some of the
members said they wer truly glad of his
illness I no I was not sorry
the drouth has cut crops very short
in this part of the country it is a blumy
looking time Though some men say they
ar going to make whisky if they is any
corn mad I recon they think it is all
right about 10 or 12 to 1 against has said
Still I am glad you have a good Sunday
School But sorry to hear that Neill & B
cannot attend I am not carrying on
one my self but I have been attending
one all the summer only about 35
dollars I give way to other persons
If they is nothing to prevent I will come
down to be at the big meeting I have been
thinking of getting a letter and join
some church up her but I dont much
like to be in a chur wher the members
hod nother commune with a stiller
than their pastor I am bound to say
that I feal that I havent done my
duty tords the church but I will do
somthing soon. Tel old Mr Dowd that I
will be sure to come & see him when
I come down in that neighborhood I
will not make any promas to go with
them other boys to Mr M. Frys So
I will close by saying give my
respects
to all yours as ever & C F.C. Young
Mr Sears write a gain if you can
make it convenent
