Prophet Muhammad

Our blessed Prophet Muhammad , was born on 17th of Rabi'al Awwal, in the year 570 CE. This is also known as the year of the Elephant. His birth place is the city of Makkah, in Saudia Arabia. His father, Abdullah, who was a business man, had died just weeks before
Muhammad's birth. Upon his birth, he spoke the words of the
Shahadah (just one of many miracles from GOD ). His mother, Amina Bint Wahab, had died when Muhammad was only six(6) years old. His grandfather, 'Abd al Muttalib, took care of him, until he was eight(8) years old. After his grandfathers death, his uncle, Abu Talib, took care of him. His uncle Abu Talib was a caravan merchant, and under his care, Muhammad had made his living as a caravan merchant. He did not have proper schooling and was illiterate. He was a great
business man, he had developed a great reputation of being
one of the best business men and received the name 'Al
Ameen" meaning the "trusted one" or "trustworthy". When he
was 40 years old, while meditating in the mountains of
Makkah, the arch angel, Gabriel revealed to him the first
chapter of the Holy Qur'an (Sura 96). Which translates:
"In
the name of Allah, the Beneficent the Merciful.
Muhammad
, read in the name of your Lord Who
created mankind......"
He had started to preach
the Divine message to the pagans, they laughed at him and
caused great hardship on him, only a small number of people
from Makkah had accepted his Divine message and the first
of them were Imam Ali (A.S) and Khadija (a.s), the wife of the prophet . When the pagans had been hard on the Muslims
in Makkah, prophet Muhammad had left Makkah and moved to the city of Madina. Which is the start of the Islamic calendar. The number of Muslims began to increase greatly and an Islamic Government was started and it became very powerful, more so then any other government and religions before. While in Madina many armed forces
were developed to protect the Muslims from the conflicts that took place between Muslims and pagans, Jews and Christians. During all these conflicts the Prophet had always dealt with his enemies of Islam, with great kindness and greatness of moral standards. After he had
received the first Divine revelation, it continued to keep being given to him for 23 years, to complete the Holy Qur'an as the last revelation of Divine message for the guidance of mankind. For a Muslim to follow Islam he/she has to follow rules which concerns all aspects of our lives, worship,
business, social and political laws. When the prophet completed his mission for Allah , the Most High revealed this verse of the Holy Qur'an, translation:
"this day we have perfected for you your religion, completed for you Our bounties and We have consented that Islam will be your religion."
The holy prophet had become very ill and he had departed from this world on the 28th of Safar. Imam Ali (A.S) took care of preparing the holy prophets body for burial. His body is buried in the city of Madina where his holy shrine stands today. Prophet Muhammad , was an excellent example of high standards in sincerity, truthfulness, honesty, high morals, compassionate, generosity, bravery, kinship, great self control, very wise and patient. We as Muslims have to strive to follow the ways of our Blessed Prophet Muhammad . He was a very handsome and strong man with a face full of kindness and light.
