By giving the people different languages, God prevented the people from completing their tower and the people scattered to different parts of the world.

The BIG PROMISE!

Did you know that the very first time that God promised to send a Saviour is found in chapter 3 of Genesis?

Adam and Eve are tempted by Satan and they choose to disobey God. God promises that Satan would be crushed by a child born to the woman. This promise comes true when many years later Jesus is born of a woman. When Jesus dies on the cross and pays the penalty for all of our sins, Satan is crushed. Genesis 3:15 is the first promise of the coming Saviour.

God chooses which people through which the Saviour will come!

Genesis 12:1-3: God promises that the Saviour will come through Abraham.

Genesis 17:19-20: The promise is then given to Issac.

Genesis 28:10-14 The promise passes on to Jacob.

Genesis 49:10 The promise continues on to Judah

2 Samuel 7:5-17 The promise is then given to David.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 1:1 tells us that Jesus Christ is a descendant of Abraham and David just as God promised!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When you are reading through Genesis, keep in mind that God was already planning at the very beginning of the world to send us a Saviour! He loved us from the very beginning and was already planning our redemption!

Did you know...
That Genesis shows us a picture of the coming Saviour?

Abel is innocent and is killed. Jesus also had done nothing wrong and was killed.

Noah's Ark saves his family. Jesus is like the ark and he saves all of God's family from sin

Joseph shows us another picture of the Saviour. Joseph was mistreated and put in prison for no reason. Joseph did not even try to get even and he even forgave his brothers and saved them from starving to death. Jesus also forgives us and those who mistreated him. He offers everyone salvation from the punishment of sin.
