STORMS BIBLE STORMS / HOXEY? Family Bible One of the names was written and easy to transcribe ::: STORMS The other name could have been HO - V - EY instead of HO - X - EY. If you tie into this family and can tell me which it is I'd appreciate it VERY much! The information here was taken from a bible listed for sale on e-bay auctions for sale in March of 2000. This Bible found at H & S Trading Post in Marietta OH.
Cover is missing. I will put into italics the parts that are in the mother's handwriting and leave regular type what was written by someone else (I believe to be Vada May). First page with writing on it: Presented to Vada May Boice by her Mother, Jan 1st 1899. Monday 6:40 a.m. Feby 3 - 1906 - [[When I bought this bible I thought that was all the information in it. BUT. . . AFTER I got home I found a very thin paper stuck inside, near the back, in the map section of the bible!!]] It Stated: Family Record Manerva Died 6:40 Sat Feb. 3, 1906. or Elizabeth buried Mon. Feb. 5. 06 Lizzie Anne FULTON. Born Nov. 18th 1856. John Milton BOICE Born, March 1st 1856. Married by Rev. M. MOSES. February 17th, 1879. David Allison BOICE B. Dec 7, 1871. Died June 27th 1882. Nevada May BOICE B. Oct 29th, 1881 Married Sept 30, 1905 Blanche Edith BOICE B. - Dec 13th 1885. Mabel Wells BOICE B. - Aug 23rd 1887. Married Feby 10 '04 Baby Kathleen Feb 8 - 1905 John Pearcy BOICE B. - Nov 21st, 1893. D. - June 20 ' 1894. Other than the front cover missing and usual wear-n-tear for a bible of this apparent age, it is in good condition. The paper this information is written on appears to me it may be glued in the back. Judging from the handwriting and what is written in this bible I'd say that the Mother was Manerva BOICE.
