"On 20 June, 1836 in Australia Michael lodged an application to bring his children and four children) out to Australia".

After the FOGARTY were were eviocted from their anestral castle (Eliogarty Castle) it is claimed some of them changed their name to RYAN (a clan that seemed to have special priveledges withe the British rulers). It is also thought that some FOGARTY married into the RYAN Clan in order to be allowed to be land owners.
