Testing Time
Several options are offered in our area to meet the annual testing requirements for your children.
For the fourth year, Phyllis Babcock will offer individual and small group testing in her home this spring. From all reports, she provides a great testing environment so that your child can do his/her best work. This includes an organized, quiet setting and short testing sessions with breaks and refreshments.
She is a qualified test administrator who is registered with Bob Jones Testing Service for both the Iowa Test of Basic Skills and the Stanford Achievement Test.
This year she will offer sessions during April and May to accommodate your schedule. Most elementary level testing is done in three mornings. If you call to register before Feb. 10th, the group can reduce the price by using a local supplier. Otherwise, Bob Jones Testing Service will be our source at $26 per test. In either case, the results are mailed directly to the parent within 4-6 weeks.
The fee for administering the test is as follows:
$20 per child in a small group
$15 per child ( if siblings register)
$30 for individual testing (usually requested
for K-2 graders )
There will be a short meeting in early March for parents and students to meet Phyllis, see the layout, and answer your questions. She has tips on preparing your child with various practice tests- whether Test Alert, Scoring Higher or Better Test Scores. Bob Jones Testing Brochures will be on hand then or for pick up. Call Phyllis for information and to register. Space is limited.
Do you want to participate in a Mocksville area test group? We will have a small test group for the ITBS in early April. Low fees. All parents must plan to stay and help. Call Martha Brierly for more information.
