Creation Illustrated
The Christian Answer to National Geographic
By Tom Ish, CI Editor Publisher

Many homeschoolers are discovering a new nature publication called Creation Illustrated.  It is a full-color quarterly packed with spiritual lessons found in nature.  Some readers call it "the Christian answer to National Geographic."

Families are finding it to be a great curriculum supplement as well as a meaningful devotional and outreach tool to other family members and friends. With no outside advertising, the Bible-based journal is a refreshing look at what God has done through powerful articles and stunning color photography.

Each edition is divided into three sections:

  1. Creation Illustrated in Nature includes spiritual lessons found in animal features, outdoor adventures, and a close-up look at one part of Creation.>
  2. Creation Illustrated in Living is designed to encourage creativity as a vital part of character development.  Stories cover creativity in the home, the garden, the kitchen, and the arts. There are also crafts, puzzles, games, and nature activities to encourage learning more about Creation. There is even a photo contest with cash prizes for youth.
  3. Creation Illustrated in Scripture goes a little deeper into researching what God intended to share during the Creation Week.  One day of Creation is covered in each edition.  Other items of interest are included in the Creation Highlights and the Creation Calendar.

A special feature in the latest edition of Creation Illustrated is a story on artist and homeschool workshop instructor Barry Stebbing. Barry and his wife, Saundra, recently taught an art workshop to 160 youth in the Winston-Salem area, and homeschool leader Patty Bradley is quoted in the story.
