I addressed this issue last year, but feel certain it needs to be addressed once more. The SciWorks staff has been more than understanding about misbehavior and the lack of courtesy on behalf of some homeschoolers! Several occurrences have been brought to my attention in the past two years -- from sand thrown by two preteen boys in the kindergarten area, to trying to flip fish out of the aquarium. Most recently, there has been wrestling in the middle of the touring floor, breakage of an exhibit and hitting a computer to "make it come on." I do not have specific names, but, in most cases the child wore a yellow nametag and the mother was present.
As coordinator this is, and has been, a concern for me. Again, the staff at SciWorks has been extremely patient in accepting my apologies for homeschoolers up until now. I only hope their patience will not run out.
Please talk to your children and take the appropriate steps to remedy these situations, so future visits can be positive ones for all concerned.
Finally, SciWorks regrets the mix up with the Laser Program last month and appreciates your patience and understanding.
Thank you to all that have helped these past two years. I really appreciate you! Happy Science!
