1. Fill an empty egg carton with 12 plastic colored eggs. Number the eggs from l-l2 with a permanent marker. Fill the eggs with the following materials and open or allow a child to open during the appropriate place as you tell the Easter story.

2. Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey.
   (Use a tiny donkey from a nativity set.)

3. People spread palm branches before Jesus and shouted Hosanna.
   (Use leaves of plastic or silk flowers or a piece of real fern.)

4. Jesus ate the Last Supper with his disciples.
   (Fill with a tiny cup, such as a medicine cup, and a piece of bread or crouton.)

5. Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.
   (Fill with a few dimes or, other silver looking money.)

6. Romans arrested Jesus and bound him.
   (Fill with a piece of rope.)

7. The soldiers placed a crown of thorns on his head.
   (Use some thorns from a rose bush.)

8. They scourged him and dressed him in a purple robe.
   (Fill with a strip of leather to represent a whip or a piece of purple cloth or use both.)

9. He was crucified on a cross.
   (Use a small cross.)

10. Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea came for the body of Jesus and brought spices.
    (Fill with a few whole spices such as cloves or cinnamon sticks.)

11. They wrapped the body of Jesus in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb.
    (Fill with a small strip of white cloth.)

12. The women came to the tomb on Sunday morning and saw the stone was rolled away. Two angels said "He is not here but He has risen."
    (Fill with a tiny angel from a nativity set or use a round stone.)

13. The tomb is empty. Jesus rose and is now with us.
    (This last egg is empty to represent the empty tomb.)

When telling the Easter story you will probably need to add more details and explanations to fill in the gaps here. These points are just some of the highlights used with the eggs. Get your Bible and read to fill in the Scripture references and details.
