Dear FHE friends and family,
It has been a blessing to serve you for two years as editor of our community newsletter. Thanks for all of the unseen help behind each issue and especially for the faithful contributors.

For me, it all started when the family of the former editors suddenly faced relocation. I volunteered to give the job a try as the August issue steadily approached. I thank you for being kind during the trial and error period "cutting my teeth" on the job!

I found a lot of satisfaction in compiling the information, formatting it, and trying to make it appear attractive. I also realized that God had given me the ability to do this job adequately. Someone reminded me the other day "the pen is mightier than the sword." I was again overwhelmed that I had been given this task, but I was also given the grace to handle it as I sought the good of the homeschool community.

I have mixed emotions about resigning. It is good to have accomplished a goal yet it is sad to give up such gratifying work. I hope to continue serving as a contributor to the newsletter, but other demands are letting me know it is time to move on.

If you feel drawn to this position, I'd be more than pleased to talk to you, pass along what I have learned and try to save you some steps. It is a job that can be done by one or more people. Call me and become part of the team!

I had hoped to get several updates on members of the community for you are we "part" for summer break. I have a few and will recap briefly what I am aware of.

FHE has come to the age where we are "graduating" some of our founding families to the next phase of life (including grand parenting for Greg & Bonnie Munger and an "almost" empty nest for Frank & Kathy Meyer and Marshall & Pattie Parker.)

Pray for your friends in their lives and in their struggles. Relocation and job change has effected a significant percentage of our membership over the last year. Continue to pray for Larry & Starla Bassinger, as it has not been long since Hannah has gone home. Remember the Bonettis, Pattersons, and the Shores as they seek to add to their families through adoption.

If there are others I should mention, we'd sure like to know so we can pray and share in the story.

By the way, if you parents or children write a short story about a family event (like the Babcock story) please send it in! That makes encouraging reading for other families!
