We recently gave ourselves a United Marriage Encounter Weekend. It was a landmark time in our marriage. It is also something we believe others parents and families greatly benefit from! THAT is why we are sharing this information!

Marriage Encounter is for all couples who have a good marriage and want to make it better. It combines Christian values and a practical method to improve communication between husband and wife. It gives you time to focus on each other, free from distractions of everyday life. It gives you time to examine your marriage and discuss your feelings, joys, disappointments, and hopes in a face-to-face, heart-to-heart, private sharing between husband & wife.

We especially recommend UME Weekends for the couple who:

• would like to improve or deepen their communication;
• are busy and seldom have enough time for each other;
• have a good, solid marriage but would like more romance, zip, and sparkle;
• believe they don't need it. If you have a good marriage, give yourselves the joy of building a great marriage. After your Weekend you'll know why we say, "If you don't need Marriage Encounter, you deserve it!"

A couple should be married at least one year before their Weekend. It is not recommended for anyone who is receiving professional marriage counseling or psychiatric care, or who needs that kind of help.

United Marriage Encounter is a Christian ministry based on the Christian faith, belief in Christ-centered marriage, and belief in the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. United Marriage Encounter does not have any connection with the "New Age" movement, the "human potential" movement, or similar groups.

What does a Weekend Cost? The registration fee is U.S. $35. You don't pay directly for your room, meals, or other Weekend expenses. Other couples have already given the money to pay all these costs. The leadership couples who present the Weekend are volunteers. Since the future of Marriage Encounter is totally dependent on donations, you will be invited and encouraged to contribute to future Weekends for other couples. You decide how much you want to give so others will have this opportunity. Your donation is tax-deductible.
