Featured Family:THE DILLONS

Our featured family this month are Eric and Sally Dillon and their three daughters, Jennifer (11), Sarah (10) and Kate (7). Mr. Dillon works at Dillon Supply Company. The Dillons have lived in Winston-Salem for eleven years and are active members at Grace Bible Church where they have taught Sunday school for several years.
This is the Dillons' first year homeschooling their daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Dillon decided to homeschool because their girls were always exhausted after school, and their parents would have to help them with two hours of homework almost every night.
The girls have a number of favorite activities they like to participate in. Here are just a few. Jennifer likes to play the piano and she enjoys playing basketball (her favorite sport). Sarah really likes gymnastics along with any other sports; she enjoys all of them. And Kate has recently started taking piano lessons and she likes playing all sports, like Sarah.
The Dillons are one of the friendliest families you will meet. Sally is always smiling and Eric always has a word of encouragement. So if you see them at any of the activities for F.H.E., just go up to them and say "Hi!" Before you know it, you'll feel like you've known them forever and you will be blessed by them.
NOTE: Mr. and Mrs. Dillon are trying to form a girls' basketball team. If you are interested, they would appreciate it if you would contact them.

Carolina Blue
It looks like a clear, cloudless day,
It sounds like birds chirping softly into the air,
It feels like the softest sheep's wool,
It tastes like cotton candy; pure and sweet.
Sunshine Yellow
It looks like the brightest daffodil in the garden,
It sounds like a small kitten gently purring,
It smells like a meadow of wild flowers,
It feels like the gentle rays of sun on the back of my neck,
It tastes like fresh sourdough bread.
Something to Soothe the Teenage Soul
Book Review By Bekah Hodges
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul is a collection of 101 encouraging tales of love, life, and other mysteries. The short stories compiled in this number one best selling book are the real life experiences of other teens and young adults. The stories were contributed by the authors, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Kimberly Kirberger, to give advice to teens on their trials and triumphs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all the help it provides teenagers. Even though it is not written from a Christian perspective, the values the writers promote are what Christians would agree with and would instill in their teenagers.
I give this book four stars and encourage teenagers to pick up a copy and dig in!
