My Life with Samijo
It all started the beginning of May in 1997. I don't remember much before then, I really was pretty young. Sami has had to tell me most of this because of my bein' such a young pup back then.
My human now, (Dave) heard about an elderly couple on the radio that had a Lhasa Apso for give away. They were moving and didn't have a place for me any more. Well, he decided that I would be the perfect gift for Sami. He came to their house and boy did I get all excited. He played with me and loved on me and I was all "it"! Well, he came to get me in this big white van and it was full of smelly carpet stuff. I really didn't mean to drool all over everything in the van. Really, I didn't mean to get him. But needless to say by the time we got the thirty miles to "home" EVERYTHING in the van had gotten a new drool bath.
When we got home he just left me in that van with the smelly stuff! But it wasn't long and Sami was peeking in the window. And you know what she did? She wrapped me all up in a blanket and got me all warmed up. I was shakin' more from bein' scared than from cold but she wouldn't listen to me. Well, she gave me a bath and then left me there all by myself. When she came back she had brought me presents. She bought me a collar and a brush and a leash (she could have done without that), and a bag of puppy food and HOOTIE TREATS! I love HOOTIE treats! I'll do anything for HOOTIE TREATS!
Well I have been here for a two years now and you know what? I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else. I like my family and have them just about trained now. It is hard to train a family to do what you want. But I have. I know if I sit under Sami's chair at meals it won't be long (she can't resist me). I know if I sit by Dave watchin TV and stare at him it won't be long and I'll get a HOOTIE TREAT. I know if I side up to Cassie and snuggle it won't be long and she will play with me. See I have them trained to do what I want, when I want. Well, most of the time, anyway.
I also now have a new boyfriend. I tend to snap at him from time to time, but come on, I never had one before. I promise I really do like him. I let him eat out of my food dish don't I? Well that says it all!
And best of all! I am finally getting to be a big doggie now. I can even get off the porch once in awhile………(when they let me!)
