RENEWED IN HIS IMAGE

PREFACE

This small book is especially for people who are convinced the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is also for those who want to find God's answers to our human dilemma. RENEW IN HIS IMAGE presents a central Bible theme--one most vital to our salvation. This theme is based on texts threaded throughout the entire Scriptures.

One single word may not describe it. Restoration, sanctify, perfect, purify, holy, victory, overcome, unblamable, righteous are a few of the terms used in the old and new testaments. Whole phrases and stories hide valuable treasure to be uncovered by the diligent student--those who hunger and thirst after righteousness.

We were created in God's image in the beginning, and Christ came to earth to bring us back into fellowship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Lord longs for us to be in harmony with Him again. His image represents His loving character. Redemption provides forgiveness for our past sins, yet, it goes far beyond pardon. Our loving Lord desires to make a thorough change in us. He provides the power to accomplish this task. His grace is sufficient and effective, but we will need to cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit.

This theme is of special importance to those who may be alive when Jesus returns. For they will go through trials no other group has faced. Yet, they possess the accumulated light and knowledge of ages past, and their understanding will be in proportion to their closeness to the Creator and Redeemer. As they "draw nigh" to God, they will receive the fullness of the Spirit. Not so they can experience great ecstasy or speak in tongues, but for the purpose of giving a full revelation of our Saviour's love and compassion to a dying world. Their lives will be a testimony for Jesus.

As the early rain fell on the disciples of old, this special group of overcomers receive the latter rain and are fitted for translation. The early and latter rain are suitable for a separate Bible study and are only discussed briefly in this book.

Please pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance as you study the Scriptures found in RENEWED IN HIS IMAGE. You and I may have the privilege of being modern Enochs--who walked with God on earth until God took him straight into heaven without dying. Why did the Lord choose to give him this almost singular experience? It's time for the remnant, mentioned in Revelation, to understand their destiny and how to reach it. When we read about God's promises to the overcomer, we'll long for a deeper experience and a closer walk with Him.
