Notes for Henry Altenburg
According to the sesquicentennial memoirs of Allegany, NY, Henry and
Catherine Zimmerman Altenburg came to Allegany in 1845. They had
previously lived in Ellington, Chautauqua Co., from 1828 - 1845.
According to Ellis' "History of Cattauragus County, NY" (1879), "John and
Henry Altenburg settled on the south side of the Allegany river in 1835."
