John Stafford Jr. Will
In the name of God Amen I John Stafford of Dorchester County being of
sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory thanks be to the almighty God first
I Recommend my Sole to God who gave it Secondly my body to the dust to be buried at the
discretion of my Saccutris ? hereafter ordered.
Item I give unto my son William Stafford my dwelling plantation I now live on and one
hundred and twenty eight a of land belonging to it and twenty four acres of land called
Range.
Item I give unto my son Jn Stafford the plantation my Father now lives on and ninety
five acres of land addition to Lott at my fathers decease.
Item I give unto my son Elijah Stafford Sixty eight acres of land called Stafford fortune
and thirty acres of land at the biginning bounded tree of a tract of land called Stafford
outlett.
Item I give unto my son Elishua Stafford eighty acres of land called Hogg Quarter and
thirty eight acres of land called Stafford out Lett joining to Elijah.
Item I give unto Mary Stafford my daughter one negro girl Silva to her and her heirs.
Item I give unto Rosannah Staford my daughter one negro girl called Pleasant to her and
her heirs. Item I give unto my daughter Eliner Stafford my negro wench named Nan and the
first child she bring after my decease.
I give my daughter Elizabeth Stafford all the rest of her increase to be equally divided
amongst all my children.
Item I give unto Eiljah Stafford and Elisha Stafford my still.
Item I give unto my son Elijah Stafford one bed and one rug and one blankett and one
sheet.
Item I give unto my son Elisha Stafford one feather bed one rug one blanket and one sheet.
Item I give all the remainder of my Estate to be equally divided amongst my Eight
children.

Pritchett thereof the subscribing witnesses to the
forgoing will being Solemnly Sworn on the holy Evangels of Almighty God
deposed and says that they saw the Testator John Stafford jun sign the aforsaid will and
here he publish and declare therefore o be his last will and Testament that at the time of
his so doing he wad to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind and
memory and that they Subscribed their Respective names as Witnesses to the said will in
the presence of the said Testator and at his Request which Oath was taken by the said
Witnesses in the presence of Wm. Stafford the heir at Law which same Wm. did not Object to
