Those of us who are researching our rich Trentino ancestry are extremely fortunate. We have much information available to us because of the initiative taken by the Province of Trento to preserve the Trentino heritage and to encourage interaction with Trentino emigrants and their descendants. The internet abounds with web pages about Trentino's history, culture, valleys, castles, museums, emigration, tourism, etc. You will find some links listed here, but there are many more. In addition, books and magazines are available both in print and on-line (see "News You Can Use" in the table below).

There are 86 public libraries in Trento, and 42 research libraries, including the libraries of the Capuchin Friars and the Franciscan Friars. The State Archive has documents and handwritten material dating back to "the first centuries of the Christian Age." There are 21 museums in the region; several are ethnographic. Cultural associations in the area number in the hundreds. There are 151 registered choirs with 5,200 members, 75 bands, and many local associations that are dedicated to interpreting Trentino's folk heritage.
