STEPHEN2 GOODMAN (JOHN1) was born 19 November 1777 in Virginia, and died Aft. 1850 in Hart County, Ky. He married ELIZABETH SEARCY about 1831 or 1832 in Hart County, Ky. There is a Hardin County Marriage record fo Stephen Goodman dated 07 October 1807 to Elizabeth JONES; and there is a Barren County KY Marriage record for Stephen Goodman dated 08 November 1814 to Milly Defevers. Elizabeth Searcy was the third wife to Stephen Goodman. Some individuals are inclined to confuse Elizabeth Searcy as being the one and the same person as Elizabeth Jones but this is not true. Elizabeth Searcy was the third wife of Stephen Goodman. Elizabeth Searcy and Stephen Goodman were probably married in Hart County, KY but no official document exists due to the Hart County KY Court House burned in 1928 destroying all legal documents. The 1850 Census of Hart County, KY dated 18 July 1850 lists lists Stephen Goodman age 73, wife Elizabeth (Searcy) Goodman age 50, son Robert Goodman age 17, and daughter Elizabeth Goodman (who later md Andrew Polston) age 12.
