Stephen Douglas Poston's Tombstone
This is a picture of Stephen Douglas 'Doug' Poston's tombstone. Doug was born February 01, 1862, and died March 13, 1953. He changed the spelling from Polston to Poston by leaving out the "l". His daughter bought his tombstone and gave his name to be spelled without the "l" but the guy that made the tombstone had made the stones for others of the family and he thought his daughter had made an error in the spelling. The daughter, Ollie May Poston Presley, said, "Well, he won't know the difference". So the "l" was left on his tombstone. The location of the gravesite is in the Polston/Poston Cemetery in the Kessinger Community, Hart County, Kentucky.
