Tidbits of Wisdom Handed Down
epb1937@scrtc.com
The sole purpose of your middle name
Has been to tell
You were in a heap of trouble--
And you say, "Oh, well"!
God gave you two ears
And one mouth. So listen twice
As much as you talk--
It will save you a great price.
A child outgrows your lap;
But never outgrows your heart.
The best mind altering drug is truth
As you've heard from the start.
You may be willing to change,
Not because you see the light;
But because you feel the heat.
Remember: One can't always be right.
Faith moves mountains.
But only hard labor and work
Puts a tunnel through them.
This is true for all--even a clerk.
Be kind to unkind people;
Generally, they need it the most.
Kindness is like snow--
a beautiful cover for a host.
It takes both rain and sunshine
To make a beautiful rainbow.
The world always looks
better when a smile you sow.
Learn to listen.
Opportunity sometimes knocks
Very softly although
The bumps may be over rocks.
Few people travel the road
Without a puncture or two.
The best gifts are tied with heartstrings
And they may be blue.
Don't major in minor things.
Don't burn bridges.
You may be surprised how many times
You have to cross the same rivers and ridges.
What comes up in the bucket
Was what was down in the well.
So, sit back and meditate
And rest a spell.
Some people pay a compliment
And expect a receipt;
But won't ask advice for fear of giving
An impression they need it from those they meet.
