Mama's Salvation Experience

epb1937@scrtc.com

Mama's name was Poston, Ollie Mae.
She often told of her salvation day.

She lived with her Granny Polston in the community of "Need-More";
And pondered the scriptures she'd heard from Granny before.

One early fall day the sun was shinning warm
As she walked down the hill on the old farm.

At age eleven, she knelt by a big chestnut stump;
And in her heart she felt a heavy lump.

She looked up into the clear blue sky
While kneeling in the rye.

She asked God to forgive her sin
And into her heart come in.

Immediately, the sky became bluer and the sun brighter
As her burden became lighter.

She ran to the house fast that day
And told Granny her sin had been taken away.
