ROW 1:(Right side):Sc in second ch from hook and in next 4 chs, 3 sc in next ch,sc in next 5 chs,*skip next 3 chs, sc in next 5 chs, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 5 chs;repeat from * across: 91 sc.
NOTE 1: Loop short piece of yarn around any stitch to mark last row as right side.
NOTE 2:Entire Afghan is worked in Back Loops Only.
ROWS 2 and 3:Ch 1, turn; skip first sc, sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, * skip next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc;repeat from * across to last sc, leave last sc unworked.
finish off.
ROW 4:With wrong side facing, join CC with sl st in first sc; ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, * skip next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc;repeat from * across to last sc, leave last sc unworked.
ROW 5: Repeat Row 2;finish off.
ROWS 6 and 7:With MC, repeat Rows 4 and 5.
ROWS 8 and 9:Repeat Rows 4 and 5.
ROWS 10:With MC, repeat Row 4.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures approx. 10" from beginning ch, ending by working a right side row;finish off.
NEXT 7 ROWS:Repeat Rows 4-10.
LAST 2 ROWS:Repeat Row 2 twice.
Finish off.

SQUARE (Make 2)
With CC,ch 4; join with sl st to form a ring.
RND 1:(right side): Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 2, (3 dc in ring, ch 2)3 times; join with sl st to top of beginning ch-3, finish off.
NOTE:Loop a short piece of yarn around any stitch to mark last round as right side.
RND 2:With right side facing, join MC with sl st in any ch-2 sp;ch 3, (2dc, ch 2, 3 dc)in same sp, ch 1, * (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp, ch 1; repeat from * around; join with sl st to top of beginning ch-3.
RND 3:Ch 1, sc in same st and in next 2 dc, (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in next corner ch-2 sp, * sc in next dc and in each dc and ch-1 sp across to next corner ch-2 sp, (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in corner ch-2 sp;repeat from * 2 times more, sc in next 3 dc and in last ch-1 sp; join with sl st to first sc, finish off.
JOINING
Cut 4, 2" squares of felt.
With wrong sides of Squares together and working through both thicknesses, join CC with sl st in any corner ch-2 sp; ch 4, (hdc, ch 2) twice in same sp, * (hdc, ch 2) 3 times in corner ch-2 sp; repeat from * around, inserting felt before closing; join with sl st to second ch of beginningch-4, finish off.
