BRABANT Family History

Jean Brabant, daughter of Dr. Daniel and Madaleine DeBordeaux Brabant, was probably born in South Carolina. Her father was one of the original Huguenot emigres to SC. She and Cornelius DuPre were married 20 Nov 1708 in the Parish of St. Thomas and St. Denis. They were the parents of seven children: Cornelius b. ?; Elizabeth b. ? married Paul Porcher; Jean Elizabeth b. 12 Oct 1709, married Abraham DuPont; Mary Magdalen b. 13 Nov 1711 married John Gignilliat; Caroline b.?; Josias b.? married Rebecca Alexander; and Martha b. ? married Issac Porcher. Cornelius Dupre died probably in 1747 as that is when his will was probated, his widow, Jean lived in the parish of St. Johns, Berkley until 1750, managing her plantation of 534 acres or rice and indigo.
