Jacques DeBordeaux, son of Evermond and Catherine (Tresne) DeBordeaux, was born in Grenoble, France. (year unknown). He was in South Carolina in 1685, one of the original Huguenot emigres. His name (as James DeBordeaux) is on a list of CHARLES TOWN LOTS purchased by Huguenots as follows: Lots number 171 and 161 dated 13 Mar 1693/94 and number 171 dated 19 May 1694. One source gives his date of death as 1699 and another as 1708/09. He married Madeleine Garillord and they had at least one child, Madeleine, who married Daniel Brabant.
