The PARKE Family History
The earliest known member of our Parke family is William Parke. William was probably born in County Essex, England. He was in Virginia in the 1630's and died "across the sea". His will, filed in the Principal Probate Registry at Somerset House in London, left his estate to his elder son, William, and his wife, Sarah and one hundred pounds to his younger son, Daniel. This will was probated in 1634. It is possible that he was the son of Robert Parke who died in 1592 and mentioned in his will Robert and a younger son William. (source: 'The Virginia Magazine)
