Things About Me.
My name is Carrie, I was born at appoximately six o'clock at night on December 13,1983 to Randall Forrest and Angela Donette. I was two months premature and weighed 4lbs. 9oz. I had a collapsed lung and an underdeveloped stomach. I could not eat on my own for two weeks.
The doctors had me hooked up to tubes and IV's. I pulled out the breathing tube, the doctors' left it out to see how I would do, I did alright. The next day, I pulled out my feeding tube and ate on my own. I came home towards the end of Febuary weighing five pounds three ounces. By the middle of march i was back in the hospital with pneumonia. I was not expected to live,but two weeks later, I went home.
At the age of nine months, I weighed nine pounds and feeding me was a chore. I vomited after only 3oz. of milk and I cried all the time. My mother finally switched doctors, my new doctor said that if we would've waitd 2 more weeks I would've been dead. My stomach was still not fully developed and I was starving. My mother had to hold me at a certain angle for 1/2 an hour, after feedings.
My mother and father then decided to move to Florida. We ended up homeless, my brother and I ended up in a foster home. We had wonderful foster parents. I was in there a year and I had a new baby brother when I came home. We moved back to Indiana without my father. I would not accept my mother and my new brother, but soon we were a family again.
My legs were crooked and my eyes were crossed, so again I went to the doctors. I got glasses at the age 2 and the doctor said that I would not be normal and could not walk properly. Well, as usual, I proved them wrong.
At age four years old, I was in a horrible accident, I stopped breathing and and I went into a coma. My head was trapped in the door because the impact was right on the door that I was sleeping by. When I awoke from the coma, they ran tests and no permanent damage was done.
In August my mom re-married my new dad we moved to Georgia where my dad was stationed in the Army.
Now I'm 19 yrs old and live in Kentucky. I am a Senior this year. I plan on going to college to major in the performing arts and i also want to do physical therapy work. My goal is to go to college at either Western Kentucky University or University of Kentucky.
