Poco

So we have 3 people living here on the farm; two ride right now, one more will be riding in the future...Plus I started working at a Quarterhorse breeding farm....Hmmm, whats a person to do? Well, breed Nite Mare to this Quarterhorse stallion, of course! In exchange for being the mare handler for one season, my mare was bred for free. "Buck" (Poco Skip Jared: Skipper Tie Bar X Bunny Bee Poco) is an awesome 15 hand buckskin quarterhorse stallion, with the best personality. A true gentleman, Buck is a real sweet heart for any horse, especially a stallion. Just the kind of disposition we wanted in an animal. So, on April 28,1997 Mare gave birth to the newest member of the Black Sheep Farm Equine Family, Poco Loco Dormier . We were trying for the buckskin color, but Poco is a beautiful black lined back bay filly. We found her about half an hour after she was born, and were able to imprint her. The first time we clipped her bridal path, she was easier to handle then some horses I have known that have had this grooming done on a regular basis.

Poco is only a year old now, and is already taller then her mother. She is a real "people" horse, very bright and willing , easy to train and wants to please. She will follow you around the pasture like a dog, and loves the attention she gets from people. The spring/summer of 1999 we will be able to "start" her under saddle, and I believe that she will be a breeze. She has been schooled in the basics, ground work, and has excellent manners. Poco will be Pauls horse, and she is his project as far as her ground training goes. I will be the one to start her under saddle.
