the Vampire Slayer
Kristy Swanson plays Buffy, a girl with nothing on her mind but her boyfriend and her cheerleading until Merrick (Donald Sutherland) introduces her to the world of vampires and reveals that she is the Slayer, born every hundred years (or so) to fight against the forces of evil. Buffy must meet her enemy Lothos (Rutger Hauer) while still trying to keep some semblance of a life. Along the way, she teams up with Pike (Luke Perry) who she must help out now and then. David Arquette makes a great appearance as the doomed Benny, Pike's undead pal.
This is, of course, now a major tv series. I have fallen in love with the show and think it's almost as good as the movie. That Joss Whedon's a genius, he really is. Anyway, here's a link page.
