Capacity
The capacity of the DVD disk is aproximately 130 minutes of MPEG compressed video, by computer standards it works out to 4.7 gigabytes, roughtly 7 times the amount of a standard CD which can hold 650 MB (megabytes).
Remember though that a DVD disc can also be dual layered and dual sided, taking this into account would give the DVD disc the potential of holding 28 times the capacity of a standard CD.
